Research interests:
During my PhD, I am interested in modelling human vision mechanism and how our brain uses visual information for spatial cognitive functions. As we know, with the support of vision, human can easily perform spatial localisation and navigation tasks. The computational principles set forth in my modelling approach are grounded on neurobiological data. Currently, I am focusing on coordinate transformation occurring based on the interplay between processing in the parietal and retrosplenial cortices. Modelling hippocampal place cells and head direction cells will also be part of my PhD project.
Short bio:
My undergraduate degree was qualified by the Software Engineering Department of the University of South China in 2011. Then, I obtained a Master of Science degree in Computational Intelligence and Robotics in the University of Sheffield in January 2015. Now, I am pursuing my PhD program at the Vision Institute (Aging in Vision and Action lab).
