William Seiple is the Director of the Arlene R Gordon Research Institute and Vice President of Research at Lighthouse-Guild. He also holds Professorships of Ophthalmology at NY Univ. School of Medicine, at the State Univ. of NY Optometry School, and at the Univ. of Illinois Medical Center. He has also been an invited Prof. of Neuroscience at UPMC. He has extensive experience in the clinical and basic science aspects of eye disease. He is an expert in visual electrophysiology, psychophysics, and low-vision. He focuses on the functional consequences of disorders of the visual system, with the aims of improving adaptation to vision loss. He is passionate about leveraging his knowledge to the development of evidence-based rehabilitation methods.
