My PhD thesis was in the framework of the Silversight project “Healthy Visual Aging, Action and Autonomy” (ANR Research Chair) at the Vision Institute.

My main interests focus on eye guidance in ecological-like conditions and on the impact of healthy visual aging on spatial cognition, which offers a representative case of high-level brain function prominently mediated by active vision.

More specifically, healthy aging is associated with natural degradation of low-level visual functions (Owsley, 2011) as well as higher-level spatial cognitive functions (Harris & Wolbers, 2012). For instance, older people have difficulty to properly use visual information to perform complex navigation tasks (Mahmood, Adamo, Briceno, & Moffat, 2009). Throughout my work, I am trying to understand how vision is used when navigating in ecological-like environments and how age-related visual as well as cognitive dysfunctions impact the ability to navigate properly.

I am using both a motion capture system as well as an eye-tracking device during my experiments to study human behavior during exploration, navigation and spatial reorientation.

Short bio: I hold a Master degree in neuropsychology and neuroscience from the University of Grenoble (France). During my studies, I was trained in cognitive and experimental psychology.

More specifically, I investigated oculomotor behavior in order to understand neural mechanisms underlying depression and bipolar disorder. I joined the Aging in Vision and Action group in July 2014.

Keywords: Healthy aging, visual aging, spatial cognition, motion capture, eye-tracking
